To me, it seems like trying to figure out if something is going to go viral is almost impossible. If you track the trends, analysts can predict what will be the next big thing. In my expeience, videos and marketing campaigns that try to create viral videos aren't entertaining to me. I like videos that are so random, they get attention, but if the video was posted three years back, it wouldn't be popular.

It is all about timing and content.

The most effective way for viral videos and ideas to be spread is through mass multimedia outlets such as twitter and facebook. The video can be shared and retweeted to thousands of other people. Twitter mainly consists of young people and now a lot of young people are drifting back into their Facebook account. The article mentions tv and radio as other mediums for the spreading of viral videos. I don't find them as effective because many people, including me, don't watch tv anymore. We watch Netflix, Hulu, or other streaming sites. The radio isn't as popular because of music streaming sites like Apple Music, Spotify, and Pandora.
